If yeast infection in the mouth or yeast infection in the throat is mild  to moderate,  miconazole, clotrimazole,  or nystatin is applied to the inside of the mouth for 7 to 14 days, depending on the degree of severity, ranging from mild to moderate, of the oral candidiasis

If on the other hand the yeast infection in the mouth is severe, fluconazole taken orally for treatment or through a vein is used.

Fluconazole is also used for candidiasis of the esophagus.

Physicians may also prescribe other medication for the treatment of oral candidiasis in above conditions.
